Experiences and apprehension from the life of a new father.
Giovanna is insistent that she do things herself. We often have to fight her to brush her hair, put on her shoes or use a cup with a lid on it.
Tonight she managed to take off the clothes she was wearing and put on another pair of pants. She even got them turned the right way round.

Coloring books have been a fixture for weeks now. The newest discovery is stickers.
Giovanna has a coloring book that has stickers in the middle section which she finally figured out how to peel off the page. She started sticking them on her arms, saying "cartoos, cartoos".
I think she is confused between cartoons and tattoos.

In the morning when Giovaana wakes up, she calls for us. She stays inside the crib, even though we have the rail lowered.
When we set the rail higher, she stands up in the crib, grasps the rail and holds her head just above her hands. When it is lowered, she kneels in the crib and places her hands and head the same as when she is standing. Amazingly, she has never decided to stand up while the rail is lowered. She has always been cautious, so I guess she just doesn't want to risk standing up.
Today we were playing in her room when she decided to play with her teddy bears. Unfortunately, they were all in her crib so she grabbed hold of the rails and stepped onto the bottom rung. She reached one foot up to her mattress and pulled herself up to the top of the rail.
I held my breath, but didn't interfere.
She had a firm grasp on the top of the rail and both feet on the mattress. She stood up to full height and threw one arm over inside the crib. She bent at the waist and fell over the rail into the crib head first. She crawled forward and pulled herself completely inside.
Giovanna stood up, turned to look at me and then yelled, "I did it!"
