Experiences and apprehension from the life of a new father.
Tonight we were watching "Dance War". Giovanna's favorite non-children's show was "Dancing with the Stars" because she loves to dance along with them, but this new one has her dancing and singing.
Part way through the show, she got interested in coloring. We were watching the competition when Giovanna came in offering a crayon to each of us, saying "Color, Color". A little later Giovanna went off to her room to get some more crayons.
Fannie didn't notice and asked, "What happend to 'Color'?". Just then Giovanna came back with the crayons, saying, "Color, Color".

The three of us sit at the dining room table for dinner every night. Giovanna has learned that it is an important time when the family has time to discuss the day's activities and news.
Tonight we were discussing the Democratic candidates and their campaigns. As we got more involved in the discussion, we became more agitated. That is always the cue for Giovanna to join in. Most of what she said was gibberish, but she clearly said "Bama, Bama" several times.
We have to be careful who we take her to visit now, in case she blurts out something politically incorrect.

Giovanna likes to brush her teeth before bed. Sometimes she even pleads, "teeth, teeth" before dinner time.
Tonight while I was putting some toothpaste on the brush, she pointed at the brush and said, "African". It took me a minute to realize that there was a picture of a lion on the handle of the toothbrush.
Who's been teaching her about African game animals?
